Pinellas County Fair on the Gulf Coast of Florida This Week

In addition to the beautiful beaches, there are always plenty of great attractions, day trips, as well as local events and festivals to fill your days with fun. This week, the Pinellas County Fair kicks off at its new venue the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The fair runs from Wednesday, March 20 through Sunday, March 24.

What’s Happening at the Pinellas County Fair?
The Pinellas County Fair began in 1917 and continues its tradition of family-friendly fun, lots of signature fair food, a wide range of exhibits and competitions, free entertainment, and so much more. Popular special events that occur during the fair include the Easter Bonnet Parade, the Remember When event, the Miss Pinellas Contest and Audition, the Plant Sale, and more.

Plan to enter one of the many competitions held at the fair or just peruse the entries and events. There are exhibits and competitions in a wide variety of categories including arts, crafts and photography, horticulture, agriculture, textiles, home economics and food preserPinellas County Fair Foodvation, special needs competitions, chocolate chip cookie competition, group dance, battle of the bands, recycled yard art, drill teams, cheerleading, and other professional competitions. There’s something of interest for everyone.

Free entertainment abounds at the Pinellas County Fair. Be sure to check the jam-packed entertainment schedule and see what’s happening throughout the fair on the day you’re there. There are also plenty of thrilling carnival rides, games and entertainment.

How Much is Admission to the Pinellas County Fair?
General admission for the Pinellas County Fair is $7. Children less than 48″ tall get in free. Wristbands are $20 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; $25 on Saturday. Parking is available in Lot 6 of the Tropicana Field for $5.
Pinellas County Fair Carnival Games
New this year is the opportunity to purchase advance tickets for a discounted rate! Advance ticket purchases can be made at Walgreens, on the Pinellas County Fair website, or by visiting the Pinellas County Fair Facebook page. The discounted general admission price is $5 and Supersaver Pass wristbands are only $15 good on any one day of the fair. The last day to save with advance purchase is on Wednesday, March 20. Don’t delay; that’s only a day away!

One More Thing… The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
Also occurring this weekend is the Honda Grand Prix, which runs from Friday, March 22 through Sunday, March 24. The race is run on a 1.8-mile, 14-turn waterfront circuit that includes a combination of adjacent downtown streets circling Pioneer Park, the Progress Energy Center for the Arts, the Salvador Dali Museum and extending onto the runways at Albert Whitted Airport, which overlook the Tampa Bay and picturesque St. Petersburg Harbor and Marina.
