Canoe and kayak rentals, charter boats and bicycle rentals are all available, and all are great ways to really become familiar with your vacation spot.

Luckily, the available restaurants offer a wide variety of cuisines that are sure to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. TJ’s Italian Café serves authentic Italian food and desserts to die for. If you’re in to Key West-style food and a bit of night life, then come down to Jimmy Guana’s for live entertainment and a tiki bar.
Finding local shopping is definitely not an issue. International Plaza and Bay Street offers over 200 stores and restaurants. John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk is not only for shopping, but also dining, festivals and water sports-a great way to spend a whole day with the family. The Pier is an enormous shopping center with everything; charter boats, galleries, boutiques, etc.

The historic sites of Heritage Village will take you back 150 years, with performances, reenactments and trails. Collect sea sponges at Tarpon Springs, or visit ZooTampa at Lowry Park, voted #1 Family Friendly Zoo by Child Magazine. The hundred-year old Sunken Gardens offers some of the eldest tropical plant specimens in the region. Or make the drive to Busch Gardens amusement park in Tampa, for rides, restaurants, live shows and games. And don’t forget Fort DeSoto Park. It is an expansive park and historic site with one of the most beautiful natural beaches in Florida.
