IRB Scavenger Hunt, Oktoberfest & More on Florida’s Gulf Coast

October is here and the fall fun continues on the Gulf Coast of Florida. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Autumn is a beautiful time to vacation here in Indian Rocks Beach and Indian Shores. Gorgeous weather combined with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters make for ideal vacation conditions. Did we mention that the summer crowds have faded and that there are still plenty of things to do in and around Indian Rocks Beach and Indian Shores? There are! This weekend offers up some big local events. Plumlee Gulf Beach Realty and the Indian Rocks Beach Homeowners Association team up to present the IRB 2013 Scavenger Hunt Pub Crawl on Saturday, October 5 from 11a.m. to 7p.m. Come by yourself or gather up your team and make your way to Kolb Park in Indian Rocks Beach from 11a.m. to 1p.m. to find your clues. Solve them and earn points for each correct answer. The individual or team with the most points wins.

This event offers up some great door prizes, cash prizes, and some fabulous food and drink specials. Be one of the first 400 participants and receive a free koozie. Advance registration is $5 and ends October 3; registration is $10 the day of the event.

IRB Oktoberfest on the BeachOne of Indian Rocks Beach’s largest events happens this month. In its 12th year, Oktoberfest on the Beach is scheduled for Saturday, October 12 from 11a.m. to 7p.m. at Kolb Park. This family-friendly event offers free admission, live music and dancing, food vendors, beer and wine, and fun competitions throughout the day. Plumlee Gulf Beach Realty is proud to sponsor the Kinderfest area from 11a.m. to 2p.m. Bring the kids for some fun children’s activities including face painting, balloon artists, clowns, arts and crafts, and so much more. Oktoberfest Tampa taps its first keg on Friday, October 11 and continues through Sunday, October 13. The festival runs from 11a.m. to 4p.m. on Friday, 10a.m. to 11p.m. on Saturday, and 11a.m. to 6p.m. on Sunday. Oktoberfest Tampa offers German cheer, beer, dancing, singing and more set along the  backdrop of the beautiful Hillsborough River at the Curtis HixOktoberfest Tampaon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa. In addition to cool weather and cold German beers, Oktoberfest Tampa also brings with it some fierce individual and team competitions for you to observe or participate in. There are over 20 games scheduled including Oktoberfest favorites such as the Keg Toss, Barrel Roll, Stein Holding, Carry the Wench, and Corn Hole.  One-day general admission is $10; a weekend pass is $25. VIP options are available. Oktoberfest tickets are available for purchase online. Admission is free for active or retired military.
