All Summer Long: Major League Baseball Games at Tropicana Field

What is summer without some baseball? The Tampa Bay Rays are an American professional baseball team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Rays compete in Major League Baseball as a member of the American League East division. Since the very beginning, the team’s home venue has been Tropicana Field. Get your game tickets here.

Now Through 8/31: Whales: Living with Giants Exhibition at the CMA

This new exhibition at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium is included in your general admission and explores the fascinating world of whales in the newly expanded visitor center. Activities in the exhibit include multi-media exhibits, a virtual reality experience, walk-through life size whale gallery, kid’s interactive zone, and a theater featuring whale related films and speakers. Details here. 

5/9: Mother’s Day

Pamper mom by giving her a Mother’s Day getaway to the Florida Gulf Coast. There are plenty of ways she can relax here—and we all know she deserves some R&R. 5/22: Music in the Park at Kolb Park in Indian Rocks Beach 

From 5-8p.m. Kolb Park Basketball Court, Tennis Courts, Pickleball Courts, Skate Park, and Baseball Field will be closed. The street in front of City Hall and the Beach Art Center, 1507 and 1515 Bay Palm Blvd. will also be closed for Music in the Park, which is a free event hosted by IRB Action 2000 in partnership with the City of Indian Rocks Beach. 

5/29-5/31: Memorial Day Holiday Weekend at the Beach

Memorial Day weekend is coming soon, and it is the unofficial start of the summer season. Come on down and spend it with us in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida for some fun in the sun, beautiful sugar sand beaches, and sparkling Gulf of Mexico waters. It’s also a day of remembrance for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, so be sure to take a few moments to think about the true meaning behind the holiday and strike up a conversation about it with your kids. 

JUNE 2021

6/14: Flag Day & Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony

How much do you really know about Flag Day? To promote American Heritage and provide a community service, the City of Indian Rocks Beach typically holds an annual Flag Retirement Ceremony at Kolb Park. This ceremony allows residents and guests to honorably disposing of worn United States Flags. So if you have a tattered or torn U.S. Flag, this is your opportunity to retire it respectfully. This is a free event. Details TBA.

6/19: Juneteenth

This holiday commemorates the formal announcement of the abolition of slavery in the state of Texas and the emancipation of slaves throughout the former Confederate States of America. Speaking of history, you can learn more about the storied past of the local area thanks to the Florida Stories app. There’s one specifically designed for IRB entitled Walk Indian Rocks Beach. 6/20: Father’s Day

Spend Father’s Day at the beach doing what Dad loves most! Cater your day to suit his personality and spend some quality time together making memories. Here are some local recommendations for things to do with Dad if you’re spending this Father’s Day in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. 7/4: Fourth of July Independence Day Holiday
