There is fishing fun for everyone on the Florida Gulf Coast. From novice to expert, anglers will find bountiful opportunities to fish the local waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway. The best news of all is that they are not far from your Indian Rocks Beach condo rental because you are always close to both bodies of water—the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway—when you vacation on a barrier island. So, who wants to go fishing? Here are some wonderful options for you.
P.S. Don’t forget your Florida fishing license if you’re fishing from anywhere other than a charter or licensed pier. You can purchase them locally from Indian Rocks Tackle. Have fun!
Fish From Your Indian Rocks Beach Rental Boat Dock

Super simple!
Fishing Piers and Parks on the Florida Gulf Coast
Sand Key Fishing Park and Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach are two popular places to go fishing during your Florida Gulf Coast vacation. Sand Key has great surf fishing, as well as rocks and small wooden jetties facing Clearwater Pass. Pier 60 is a licensed fishing pier stretching 1,000 feet into the Gulf. It costs $8 to fish here all day, or $20 with rods and bait. If you’re looking for something even closer, many of the Indian Rocks beaches and parks offer places where you can fish. Indian Shores Town Square Park has a 100-foot fishing pier also.
Book a Fishing Charter on the Gulf of Mexico
You have great options for booking fishing charters and fishing boats when you stay in Indian Rocks Beach and Indian Shores. Let the local captains show you where the best spots to fish are and help you catch the big one! The local fishing charters are a fun way to spend the day out on the water and should absolutely be on your Florida Gulf Beach vacation bucket list. There charters for varying experience levels, lengths of time, locations, plus family-friendly options. You can check out our list of favorite local charter fishing recommendations here.
