Get out your April calendar and mark down these dates! April in Indian Rocks Beach has a lot going on, and you won't want to miss any of it. In addition to sunny Florida skies, sparkling Gulf of Mexico waters, and white sandy beaches, there's a ton of family fun and excitement happening on our streets and on our beaches. Bring your family, bring your friends!

1. Guppy's Gulfside Gallop

  • Where: Indian Rocks Beach Community Park, 1700 Gulf Blvd.
  • When: Friday, April 3
  • Time: 6:30p.m.
  • What you need to know: Guppy's Gulfside Gallop is a 5K sunset run and 1-mile fun run (or walk) with an after-party on the beach that offers music, food, beer and wine (available for purchase).
  • Registration begins at 5:30p.m. You can register online here. Cost is $25 per person with proceeds benefiting local IRB civic causes. Lace up your running shoes and come on out. The more the merrier!

2. Beauty & The Beach Festival

  • Where: 17th & 18th Avenue Beach Access, Indian Rocks Beach
  • When: Saturday, April 4
  • Time: Times vary per location, see below
  • What you need to know: Beauty and The Beach welcomes spring to Indian Rocks Beach annually each April. The event features a full day of springtime fun and festivities beginning with the Pancake Breakfast from 7-11a.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church. Kolb Park hosts arts and crafts, plein-air artists and a chalk walk from 9a.m. to 4p.m. At 11a.m. on the beach at 18th Avenue the festival kicks into high gear with bands right on the sand, featuring Project 9 from 11a.m. to 3p.m. and Shaky Ground from 3p.m. to 7p.m.
  • Sign-ups for the Little Miss Beauty on the Beach and the Sandcastle Contest both begin at 11a.m., where it's first come, first serve until each event reaches its capacity. Don't be late!
  • Other family-friendly events and activities are scheduled throughout the day. There's kite flying, delicious food, refreshing drinks (adult beverages, too!), and t-shirts available for you take with you. Fun, fun, fun in the springtime sun in Indian Rocks Beach.

3. IRB Easter Egg Hunt

  • Where: Saturday, April 4
  • When: 10a.m.
  • Time: The Nature Preserve, 903 Gulf Blvd., Indian Rocks Beach
  • What you need to know: This hoppin' event is for the kiddos ages 10 and under. It's BYOB (bring your own basket) and it's free and open to the public. Every bunny loves a good egg hunt, so be ready and be on time. Activities include games, a visit from the Easter Bunny himself, a balloon artist, and lots of prizes for the much coveted golden eggs. Refreshments are on hand at the Easter Egg Hunt, too.
  • Special thanks to the IRB Homeowners Association and the City of Indian Rocks Beach for hosting this fun annual kids' event each spring. The IRB Easter Egg Hunt celebrates its 8th year this year. Come join in all of the egg-cellent family-friendly festivities. Hop to it!

4. IRB Citywide Garage Sale

  • Where: City of Indian Rocks Beach
  • When: Saturday, April 18-Sunday, April 19
  • Time: Morning to evening
  • What you need to know: The IRB Citywide Garage Sale is a bi-annual event that happens once in the spring and once in the fall. You'll find a little bit of everything here, including the kitchen sink. Bargain hunt to your heart's content. There are no set hours for this event, but it's best to come early for the best selection (just not too early!).

5. Biggest Beach Party Ever

  • Where: Indian Rocks Beach County Park, 1700 Gulf Blvd.
  • When: Saturday, April 25
  • Time: 4-10p.m.
  • What you need to know: Celebrate fun in the sun with live music, beer, wine and food right on the beach! All you need is your favorite beach chair or blanketoh, and your appetite. Indian Rocks Beach's most beloved local restaurants are dishing out their favorite fare. The Best Beach Party Ever vendors include Pajano’s Pizza, Red Lion, Slyce Pizza Bar, Pie Factory, Crabby Bills and Sombra Coffee. Crabby Bill's is serving up ice-cold Miller Lite and 18 On The Rocks is pouring the wine. There's free admission to the beach party, just bring some spending money for the food and drinks.
  • The beach entertainment schedule looks like this: Southern Jam 4-5p.m., L Tree O 5-6p.m., Surfin’ Racoons 6-10p.m. The best part about The Biggest Beach Party Ever is that all the proceeds go right back into the community to fund worthwhile Indian Rocks Beach projects and causes. Party hearty, friends. (Please remember that coolers and dogs are not allowed at this beach event.)
