Halloween Fun You Won't Want to Miss on Florida's Gulf Coast

Just because you're at the beach, doesn't mean you have to forfeit all of the fall fun you know and love. There are plenty of Halloween festivities, activities and events happening on Florida's Gulf Coast. Here are a few of our favorites. We wouldn't want you to miss out, so be sure to check them out.
IRB Hallowfest

Halloween Costume for Winter
- From the comfort of your own computer
- Entries accepted until Wednesday, October 28, deadline 11:59p.m. (ET)
Create a Halloween costume for your Winter Plush to wear, then share it on Winter’s Facebook wall using the hashtag #WintersCostume by the deadline. Based on creativity, the top 3 posts will be chosen and posted to Winter’s Facebook page on October 29th at 5pm ET. The winner will be announced on October 30th at 5pm ET.
Twilight Glow 5K & Halloween Bash
- Nature Preserve, Indian Rocks Beach
- Friday, October 30, 6p.m.
Don't be afraid of entering this event! The Twilight Glow 5k Run/Walk Halloween Bash is fun for all ages and activity levels. Admission is $20.00, with $3.00 of each ticket going to the Herbalife Family Foundation for Underprivileged Children around the world. Children under 12 years old can participate in the race for free. There's a hydration station, as well as post recovery shakes, Halloween goodie bags and glow sticks for everyone. Registration begins at 6p.m. Come dressed up in your best and most creative costumes for this one!
Howl-O-Scream
- Busch Gardens, Tampa
- Thursday-Sunday through October 31, 7:30p.m.
The streets are swarmed with hundreds of roaming creatures, making escape nearly impossible. Chilling live shows combined with Florida’s top thrill rides in the dark promise to keep the screams coming all night. Come if you dare.
Howl-O-Scream starts at 7:30 p.m. each event night, but your ticket allows
access to the park starting at 5p.m. This event is geared for adults and not recommended for children due to its graphic violent content, images and special effects.

Hey there ghouls and boys, this one's for you! This ZooBoo is all new, and it’s just for kids! Ideal for the younger crowd, ages 11 & under, this is a Halloween treat with just a few tricks. Go batty with extended hours and fright-free festivities like trick-or-treat stations, a crazy corn maze, kooky not spooky character appearances, jeepers creepers critter encounters, fun fall photo opportunities, Monster Mash groovy tunes and more. Plus, watch some of the Zoo’s animals have a smashing good time with pumpkin enrichments. ZooBoo KIDS activities are included with your admission or membership. Isn't that boo-tiful?
