Dunedin Celtic Festival This Weekend on Florida's Gulf Coast

When vacationing on Florida's Gulf Coast, you can find plenty of local events and festivals to attend during your stay. There's a little something for everyone. Last week we showcased the Suncoast Jazz Classic happening this weekend. Another musical festival is occurring this weekend in the Gulf Coast town of Dunedin. The Dunedin Celtic Festival is an annual event that draws visitors and locals alike to celebrate all things Celtic.

Dunedin Celtic FestThe Dunedin Celtic Festival is an annual event centered around Celtic rock music, craft beer, and the gathering of the clans. This year's festival takes place this weekend on Saturday, November 23 from noon to 9p.m. at Dundedin's Highlander Park. Each year the main stage features regional, national, and international Celtic music artists along with the City of Dunedin Pipe Band. The lake stage features acoustic acts along with the Dunedin High School and Dunedin Middle School bands.All proceeds benefit the three Scottish programs in Dunedin Dunedin Middle School, Dunedin High School, and the City of Dunedin Pipe Band.

In addition to the music performances, festival-goers can also find the finest craft breweries from around the Tampa Bay area on hand. There is a wide selection of beers from each brewery. Breweries represented this year are the Dunedin Brewery, 7venth Sun Brewery, Barley Mow Brewing Company, Cigar City Brewing, Sea Dog Brewing Company, and Narragansett Lager.

The Dunedin Celtic Festival tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the gate. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free-of-charge with a paid adult ticket. You can purchase tickets here. The festival occurs rain or shine. The festival is held in a mostly open space so sunscreen and a hat are suggested. There are tents and shade trees along the perimeter. Umbrellas, tents, coolers, and pets are not permitted at the festival.

Parking options include parking in downtown Dunedin and riding the free Jolly Trolly to the festival, parking at Dunedin High School and taking the free shuttle to the festival, or parking at the Celtic Festival grounds for a fee of $5.
