Bromeliads on the Rocks: The 2013 Bromeliad Extravaganza in Indian Rocks Beach This Weekend

If you were able to answer that question (or even if you couldn't), you may be interested in attending the 2013 Bromeliad Extravaganza in Indian Rocks Beach on Saturday, September 21 at the Holiday Inn Harborside on 401 2nd Street. It's a great event to attend to learn more about these fascinating and beautiful plants. Take advantage of the opportunity to talk to local vendors and expand your knowledge of this intriguing species of plant life. They are happy to talk with you as well as to answer any questions you may have. You can even bring a a bromeliad or two home with you!

The Bromeliad Extravaganza in Indian Rocks Beach is sponsored by the Florida Council of Bromeliad Societies and hosted by the FloridBromeliads Extravaganza in Indian Rocks Beacha West Coast Bromeliad Society. The show is open to the public and offers free admission to the exhibition and sales areas. The show runs from 9a.m. to 4p.m. on Saturday and includes a bromeliad marketplace featuring plant sales, educational seminars, a banquet and rare plant auction (reservations required). There are door prizes and raffles offered throughout the day. Speakers and topics scheduled during the extravaganza include Dennis Cathcart "Introduction to Bromeliads", Donald Beadle "The Billbergia and I…A Love Story", and Charlie Birdsong "Bromeliad Exploration Along Australia’s Gold Coast".
