Boat Parades Light Up Florida's Gulf Coast This Holiday Season

One of our favorite parts of the holiday season are the lighted boat parades in and around Indian Rocks Beach. There are plenty of lighted boat parades for you to enjoy, and many of them are on different nightsso catch one or catch a few.

Here are our favorite Gulf Coast holiday boat parades found all throughout the month of December. Whether by land or by sea, we really hope you'll join in on the Gulf of Mexico merriment.

Clearwater Memorial Holiday Boat Parade

When: Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 6:30p.m.

Where: Mandalay Channel, Clearwater

The lineup begins at 6p.m. in Mandalay Channel located between Island Estates and Clearwater Beach. At 6:30p.m. the festively decorated boats proceed northward through Mandalay Channel, weaving in and out of many of the Island Estate canals before heading over to Coachman Park around 8p.m. From there the boats travel under the new Memorial Causeway Bridge turning into the Clearwater Marina Channel before navigating to the Clearwater Yacht Club. Cash and gift certificate prizes donated by area businesses are awarded to the best decorated boats.

Madeira Beach Festival of Lights

When: Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 6:30p.m.

Where: John's Pass, Madeira BeachLighted Boat Parades on the Gulf Coast of FL

The 48th Annual Festival of Lights holiday boat parade in Madeira Beach begins staging at 5:30p.m. with an official start time of 6:30p.m. The light show continues until about 10p.m. If you're planning to participate on the water, be sure to sign up for the Captain's Meeting on December 11 at the Madeira Beach Marina. If you're coming just to observe, find your spot and get ready for season's greetings in true Gulf Coast style. The Festival of Lights begins at the Madeira Recreational Field and ends at John's Pass.

Indian Rocks Beach Holiday Lighted Boat Parade

When: Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 7p.m.

Where: Holiday Inn Harbourside, IRB

The lineup for the 28th Annual IRB Holiday Lighted Boat Parade begins at 6:45p.m. The festival procession heads north from the Holiday Inn Harbourside dock, under the Walsingham Bridge, and finishes at the north end of the city limits off Harbor Drive North. There are plenty of prizes and awards to be had, as well as a Captains' Awards Ceremony on December 22.

Redington Beach & Indian Shores Holiday Boat Parade

When: Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 6p.m.

Where: Tom Stuart CausewayIRB Holiday Lighted Boat Parade

The Indian Shores Holiday Boat Parade procession begins at 6p.m. at the Tom Stuart Causeway and continues until about 9p.m. finishing up at The Pub Waterfront Restaurant in Indian Shores. Prizes awarded after the lighted boat parade at The Pub. The holiday spirit is reflected both off our local waters and on our participating boats. Don't miss it!
