All Things Spring on Florida's Gulf Coast: Spring Break Sand Sculpture, Spring Training & More

Spring at last, spring at last. We welcome spring with open arms. Our beaches are ready and waiting, the Sloppy Joe's Sand Sculpture 2014 in Treasure Islandsun is shining, the water is glistening, and the palm trees are swaying in the warm Gulf breeze.

Besides all of these enticing conditions, what else is happening as spring settles in on the Gulf Coast of Florida? Here are a few of the highlights.

This year's spring break sand sculpture is complete! Come out to Sloppy Joe's Restaurant at 10650 Gulf Boulevard on Treasure Island and take a look for yourself.

"Talk to the Moon” was created by 15-time world champions Dan and Meredith of Sanding Ovations. Enjoy a day at the beach, some great food and drinks, and then head beachside to the south swimming pool to see this year's stunning sand art. Don't forget your camera!

The five-time consecutive National League East title winners work out in the beautiful outdoors while you enjoy the cozy stadium and relaxed atmosphere. After setting a franchise record with 102 regular-season victories in 2011, the team also had the best record in baseball for the second year in a row. Now training at the newest venue on the Grapefruit League circuit, the Phillies are no strangers to Clearwater, as they have been coming each spring since 1948.

Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training in Dunedin
You can still catch a little bit of the Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training, which runs through March 26 in DuToronto Blue Jays Spring Trainingnedin at the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium (formerly Dunedin Stadium). The stadium has a cozy feel and was once ranked by Sports Illustrated as one of the top 5 places to watch a spring training game.

The American League’s Toronto Blue Jays have opened spring training camp in Dunedin since the team’s inception in 1977. Enjoy Canadian touches including both the American and Canadian national anthems, and don't forget to grab an ice-cold Labatt's Blue.
