Epiphany Day Tarpon Springs

January 6, 2019

@Tarpon Springs

One of the country’s most renown Epiphany celebrations, which honors the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River more than 2,000 years ago, takes place in Tarpon Springs. This 100-plus year-old Tarpon Springs tradition is a day-long affair, which is highlighted by local teenage boys diving into Spring Bayou to retrieve a cross thrown into the water by an archbishop. The boy who surfaces with the cross is said to have good luck for the following year. What follows is an Epiphany Glendi, a lively gathering with food, drink and live music. All of the day’s events are free.

IRB Party Pirates on the Rocks

January 26, 2019

@Indian Rocks Beach

This Annual Pirate Party in Indian Rocks Beach with a twist is a local favorite. It gets bigger and better every year with a Pre-Pirate Party, Flotilla and After Party. Over the years many local Indian Rocks Beach boaters have boated to Tampa for the real Gasparilla, but did not like leaving at dawn in the cold and wind for the 10 hour round trip, yet still wanting to enjoy Gasparilla by boat. The solution was a more local event with 45 minutes of idling up the Intracoastal starting at 12 noon, docking two times to meet fellow boaters and car pirates. Everyone is invited and pirate attire is highly encouraged. Stay tuned for more details on the 2019 event coming soon! Tell your family, tell your friends. Like and follow the Party Pirates on the Rocks on Facebook (link in the heading) for the latest details and event information.
