Firestone Grand Prix St. Petersburg FLLadies and gentlemen, start your engines! It’s race week in Tampa Bay as the Firestone Grand Prix comes back to the gorgeous Gulf Coast town of St. Petersburg this weekend, Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29. This family-friendly event draws race fans (and their friends and family) each year to the IndyCar series opener on the 1.8-mile street circuit, which transforms the streets of St. Pete.

Defending race and series champion Will Power was in St. Pete for the ceremonial start of the construction of the downtown street track for this weekend’s race. “I love the track, love the area,” Power said. “It’s a track I like and I’m fast at, and the team’s very successful there, too.” You can read more about Power’s thoughts on this year’s Grand Prix of St. Petersburg here.
