As you enjoy your Indian Rocks Beach and Indian Shores vacation, make it a point to explore some of the nearby coastal towns. The driv
es are scenic and there are plenty of fun things to see and do on your adventures throughout the Gulf Coast area.
September brings music to your ears in the town of Dunedin, which is about a 30-minute drive north of Indian Rocks Beach, just past Clearwater. Highlander Park is the venue for the Starlight Concert Series, which occurs every Friday in September.
This free event is the perfect place to enjoy live music under the stars. Bring your family and friends along with some chairs or a blanket. Get settled in and relax as you enjoy music from various musical genres by local live bands and performers.
The Starlight Concert Series lineup for 2013 is as follows:
- September 6: Fast Lane (R& B)
- September 13: Mudflappers (Folk, Jazz, Eclectic)
- September 20: Betty Fox Band (Soul, Blues)
- September 27: Legendary JC’s (Soul, Funk, Blues)
Highlander Park is located at 1920 Pinehurst Road in Dunedin. Concerts begin at 7p.m. and continue until about 9p.m. Concessions are available throughout the evening. 
Looking ahead to October, Dunedin offers Films in the Park at Pioneer Park every Friday evening beginning at sunset. The movies are free. You can read more about this and other upcoming events on the Dunedin events page.
