Cris is driven by a passion for helping. She comes from a family heritage of public service and real estate. Her degree and early career have given her real life “people experience”. She says people are unique and intangible in contrast to property which is predictable and tangible, and both require problem solving skills. Cris inherited her parents people skills. She is professionally trained to be a good listener and solution leader. Today, she’s very involved in residential real estate and the tourism side of Plumlee’s business, community, and industry. Cris is a genuine native Floridian, born in Gainesville. She’s a graduate of University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Science – family counseling and social work, a perfect footing to be a Realtor. She met her husband Todd Plumlee at Florida Southern and transferred to USF. They married after graduation and returned to Gainesville, FL. She spent 7 years as a counselor, living there and working in north Florida’s Nature Coast counties of Dixie, Levy, and Gilchrist County. She spent much of her work time traveling to help families in the rural cities of Chiefland, Cedar Key, and Trenton FL. That extensive job traveling offered her the opportunity to experience “life” and real estate there up close and personal. In 2002 their son Tyson was born, and she decided to move on from counseling to devote full time to Tyson – and support Todd’s business.
The next big move came when Pat Plumlee presented Todd and Cris an opportunity to join in Pat’s business – Plumlee Gulf Beach Realty. They sold Todd’s merchandise company in 2004 and moved back to Indian Rocks Beach, Todd’s hometown. Here, Cris quickly became passionate about IRB and caring for her new community. Cris likes to create a balance of interests and joined the Church of the Isle serving on the church school’s board, the Indian Rocks Beach Community and Homeowner’s Association, and Country Day School.
By the time her son Tyson was in 5th grade Cris was working again. Cris knew she’d found her business passion. She enjoys helping people with their real estate needs and discovered she’s very good at growing and organizing the company’s operational departments. And by the way, we are beyond proud of Tyson, who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy as an air crew member.
